Updated the resequence logic in a way that was almost falser than before.
The added test however did work by coincidence, as index values were equal to
the sequence field values.
To be sure that we synchronize with what happens on the server, we do a read
after the resequence.
Additionnally, we take into account the result of the server resequence return;
if it is false, it means no resequencing happened, so we should not do a read.

Let x_1, ..., x_a, x_{a+1}, ..., x_{a+k}, x_{a+k+1}, ..., x_{n} be a record
sequence ordered by its 'sequence' field.
Suppose the reordering occurs between elements x_{a+k} and x_{a+1}.
If the subsequence x_1, ..., x_a is ordered, then it does not change.
This is also true of the subsequence x_{a+k+1}, ..., x_{n}.
The resquence function makes exactly this assumption, and only sends the server
the subsequence x_{a+1}, ..., x_{a+k} to update its 'sequence' field.
The update of x is done as follows: it is index + offset, where index is the
position of x in the subsequence, and offset is the 'sequence' of the first
element of the sequence (i.e. x_{a+1}.sequence).
It is easy to see that we need another hypothesis: that the sequence numbers are
unique. To show it, suppose that the sequence of x_1, ..., x_a is 0, then all
x_{a+1}, ..., x_{a+k} have sequence 1, and lastly all x_{a+k}, x_{a+k+1}, ...,
x_{n} have sequence 2. Then after the call to the server resequence, the
subsequence x_{a+1}, ..., x_{a+k} would have sequence numbers 1, 2,..., k.
Since the x_{a+k+1}, ..., x_{n} subsequence have 'sequence' value 1, this would
obviously be incorrect.
We fix the reordering of the data in the js frontend to be consistent with
what is done by the server.
Note that this is only pertinent for sequences of reordering moves, since
otherwise the data comes directly from the server.

multiple pages
Suppose there is a one2many field embedded in a one2many,
(say we are viewing record A with one2many field B itself with a one2many C).
Furthermore, there is a second page of the one2many field B.
If an onchange is applied on B, then the server replies with a 1 command for all
B records attached to the currently viewed object A.
This includes a list of commands [[5], [4, C_id]*] for each B record,
in particular B records that are on the second page.
Since they are on the second page, they might not have been fetched by the
frontend; in that case the corresponding C_ids are thus unknown.
As a consequence, on save the frontend sends a command 0 to create the records
for all unknown C_ids.
Since it doesn't have any value to give to the 0 command, the row creation
usually crash in the backend.
Another wrong behaviour is fixed at the same time: if the server sends an update
on the list of C ids with 4 commands.
In that case, if the record has not been prefetched, we have no way to know
if the list changed or not.
To solve this, when we receive the 4 commands by the server, we send back 4
commands.

Before this commit, there was a traceback in the following scenario:
Let's have a kanban view with groupby and a domain.
If we clear the domain then clear the groupby, there could be a crash.
This crash occurs because when we clear the groupby, it performs a `reload`,
and assumes that the datapoint contains grouped data. However, if this
computation takes some time, it is possible to overwrite the datapoint so that
there is no longer grouped data.
This commit fixes the issue by enforcing at most 1 execution of the method
`reload` active at any time. Consequently, successive reloads operations are
now much slower.
Note that it uses the single non-reentrant mutex on the basic_model to enforce
this rule, which means:
- No more concurrent `reload` and `save`.
- If an execution having the mutex in `reload` come accross the same mutex,
it is blocked forever. This is hopefully not the case at the moment,
however a reentrant mutex should be considered in the future.

Let's assume a one2many A inside a form view, such that the one2many
views (list, not editable, and form) are defined inline, and there is an
onchange on A. There is another inline one2many B editable list
displayed in the inner form view (and B isn't in the list). There are
two records on the one2many A, both of them having one record in their
one2many B. Edit the first record of A, and edit it's subrecord in B.
Click on save. This triggers an onchange on A and the onchange returns a
command 5 (DELETE_ALL), and two commands 1 (UPDATE). Now edit the second
record of A, and simply close the dialog (e.g. 'Discard'). Save the main
record: the record in one2many B of the second record of A has been duplicated.
This occured because the code in BasicModel messed up information coming
from the onchange (UPDATE command) and from the read (performed when
opening the second record), thus producing a CREATE command instead of
an UPDATE one.
This rev. ensures to properly mix the read data with the onchange
result, by transfering the changes over the list datapoint created after
the read.

Revision on b09f0c99
The intent of the previous commit was to no drop records in a list
on discard in the following cases:
- when they have been created from a `default_get`
- when they have been created from an `onchange` that result
from a `default_get`
Before the commit above, the kind of records that were abandoned
in those cases are stated as invalid, which happens when a record
has a required field that is empty.
The case of an `onchange` that is not involved in a `default_get`
was not considered in the fixes above. In fact, this is the intent
behaviour in most cases. However, if the items in the list are
created from such an `onchange`, we should not drop them.
This commit fixes the bug where records in a list that are created
from an `onchange` are wrongly abandoned. Here is the new logic to
abandon a record on discard in a list:
- the record that is marked as "do not abandon" should not be
abandoned;
- a record that is registered as a "not new addition" in the
list should not be dropped;
- a record that is registered as a "new addition" in the list,
and has been updated afterwards, should not be dropped;
- a record that is not new should not be dropped;

Have a model A with a o2m to B.
In the list have a field B > m2o > C
Also have a sequence field (widget handle) on B
Then Create a record A
Arrange yourself to have two new records B popping right away (through an onchange)
in the o2m. Their C field have to be empty
Resequence those two B lines with the handle
Before this commit, there was a traceback when trying to do an name_get on the C fields
Since both of them are empty, there is no record in the localData
Hence, no model. And also no records anyway, so no need to do a name_get
After this commit, there is no traceback, the name_get is avoided when no data is to be fetched

Have a decorated (conditional on field) editable list, with a default_order.
Have more records than the pager allows.
Add an item, and hit escape to cancel addition.
Before this commit, the cancellation crashed because the first record on the other page
was trying to evaluate the decoration for its row, which is wrong in the first place.
This was because creating a record increases the limit of the list, to be able to see the record
being created.
At cancellation though, that limit was never decreased.
After this commit, the whole flow happens without problem.

Revision on 8ac98fc78a3794e06481b02a431bcdc386a5a6ee
The commit above does not check whether the list contains data or not.
As a result, if there are no data in the list, there is no reason to
fetch `name_gets`.
In fact, there could be a traceback because some parameters of this rpc
are computed from data in the list. So if there are no data in the list,
the parameters of the rpc are undefined. This was the case for a test
in enterprise.

Revision on https://github.com/odoo/odoo/commit/9a9da5763b38a3bce54e9c4870af0032e38cacc3
The intent of the commit above was to no abandon records in a list on
discard when these records have been created from a `default_get`.
Also, the `default_get` may also perform an `onchange` that could create
more records. The records from this `onchange` must also be included in
the "do not abandon" rule.
However, the rule was too relax, so that any following `onchanges` from
a user interaction was also considered into this rule. As a result, it was
not possible to abandon such records.
With this fix, we restrict the rule to `default_get` (already the case) and
only the `onchange` right after a `default_get`. Any record created on an
`onchange` from a user interaction after a `default_get` should be abandoned
on discard.
Representation of creating the list:
savepoint
|----------|-----------|-------||--------|------->
create default_get onchange1 onchange2
record in the list is created by default_get or onchange1
=> do not abandon on discard
record in the list is created by onchange2
=> abandon on discard

Before this commit, some records in a list did not show the name of their
many2one fields.
This case occurs when the records in the list are created from a default_get,
and the records do not fit in a single page. In that case, the records in the
first page correctly display the names of their many2one fields, but not the
records in the other pages.
Fixes #24547
|
|
Before this commit, when a list contains records with many2one fields that
contain the same values, duplicate ids were passed to the server on rpc
`name_get`.
For instance, if 40 records in a list refer to a Unit of Measure with id "1"
whose displayed_name is "unit(s)", the server receives a long list of ids with
simply the value "1". Also, the server responds with a list of displayed_name,
in this case a list of 40 strings "unit(s)".
With this commit, we always pass unique ids to the server on rpc `name_get`.
|
|
When sorting records according to a many2one field in a list view
embedded in a form view, the js would sort according to their ids,
in a seemingly arbitrary order.
Thus sorting records according to a field with values in ("a", "b", "c")
could be sorted as "a", "a", "c", "b" instead of "a", "a", "b", "c".
We make the comparison on the name of the field instead.

Recently, rev. c0809dd41 removed a protection in the reload of
Kanban views with progressbars. This protection ensured that the
manual reload of the progressbars was only done when one of the
records of the Kanban view was updated (and not when a column, or
the whole view was).
However, removing it highlighted a bug linked to the manual reload
of progressbars, which messed up the list of ids in the
environment. As a consequence, for instance, if the user archived
the records of a column, and then opendc a record in form view,
it couldn't use the pager anymore.
Besides fixing this bug, this rev. re-introduces the protection,
and refines it to prevent 2 useless RPCs when the whole Kanban
view was reloaded.

Assume a one2many field inside a form, displaying field A in its
list view, and a field B in its (dialog) form view. Moreover, there
is an action button in the dialog, which updates the value of B.
Before this rev., B wasn't correctly reloaded when the button was
clicked, because the BasicModel reloaded the fields on the list
view (i.e. field A), whereas it should reload the fields in both
views.
This fix is twofold. First, we force the viewType to 'form' when
the record is reloaded, instead of the default ('list'), so that
fields in the form view are correctly reloaded. Second, when we
open the form view in the dialog, we add the fields of the list
view to the dict of fields of the form view, so that the form
is aware of those fields and can ask the model to reload them
(still without displaying them).

The views of that o2m define two inline views: the list and the form
in the list view, put a field that isn't in the form and used in a domain
Try to add an item to the list
The form pops up
Fill in the data and save & close
Before this commit:
It crashed when evaluating the domain on a field using the field that is not in the form
After this commit:
Subviews share their fields in a special object on the parent record
In our case, the form view checks in that shared resource if the fields it is supposed to initialize
are there.
Hence, this flow doesn't crash anymore

Before this, the progressbar values were not updated (both count and progress)
after archiving all the records of a column.
Multiple things have been done here to update it.
Firstly, a optimization had been done to avoid reloading the progressbar when
updating a column ; this optimization was not correct due to this precise use
case. This will update the progressbar.
Secondly, the `aggregateValues` are reset when putting empty groups back in the
datapoint. This attribute is used to compute the counter if a `sum_field` is set
on the progressbar widget. It needs to be reset because the loop that computes
it won't iterate on empty groups.
Eventually, the mockRPC of the progressbar route was not taking the `group_by`
argument into account (probably a typo).

The initial rev. odoo/odoo@2d3ecf2 that was supposed to handle this use case
was in fact only dealing with one command as default value for nested x2m, not
more.
The basic model can now handle multiple commands.
Closes #24241

Here is a scenario that could happen before this commit:
1. go to a list view with more than one record, say 3
2. click on the 3rd record to open the form view
3. the pager says 3/3
4. click on edit button
5. click on discard button
6. the pager says 1/3 (but the record displayed is still the same)
It is often necessary to restore the offset for the sub records, because
the number of pages in a one2many could have changed. However, it is
not a good idea to do that for the main record, since it interferes with
the usual flow of operations.

Before this rev., a crash occured when a default_get returned a
command 0 (CREATE) for a one2many, with a value for a date(time)
field (e.g. [0, false, {some_date_field: '2018-12-08'}]). This
was because the related values (inside the commands) weren't
parsed. This only impacted date and datetime fields, for which the
parsing converts the string into a moment instance.

Try to add a record onto the list
Before this commit, when the virtual record is added onto the list
it crashes because the datetime field is undefined and cannot be parsed

to be updated (because it is the create_date)

In a kanban grouped by many2one with a progressbar, after emptying a column
by moving all records, the column wasn't correctly updated. This was causing,
in the best case, a record duplication or, in the worst case, a traceback.
This issue comes from the fact that, with a progressbar, a read_group is
performed each time a record is moved. When the group (column) becomes empty,
the read_group won't return this group even though the group still appears in
the kankan. When moving back the record in this empty column, there is a
desynchronization between the kanban controller data and the model.
To fix this issue, an option `keepEmptyGroups` is passed when performing the
mentioned read_group ; this mimics the kanban display that keeps empty groups
displayed and there is no desync anymore.

Before this commit, when some records were created from an `onchange`,
we have the following weird behaviour:
Suppose that this record has some required fields that are empty.
When we click on this record, then somewhere else, the record
disappears from the list.
This is because the records contains invalid fields, and it is wrongfully
assuming that the record to be discarded comes from "Add an item".
A previous commit [1] fixed a bit this issue with `default_get`, but since
it relied on a fragile heuristic, we decide to apply the correct fix with
this commit.

When we discard an element, we want to make sure that the new state is
not corrupted by previous user operations. In our case, we possibly had
a limit and an offset values modified by the user.
This could lead to unpleasant situations, with incorrect data displayed
on the form view.
Note that this actually fixes a new bug introduced by commit

(this is the commit that introduces the tempLimitIncrement attribute)

A big problem with the o2m edition happens when the user has a full page
(so, in general, 40 records) and click on add.
If the o2m is in editable="bottom" mode (which is actually a really
common usecase), then the next record will be added at the end.
However, since we have a limit of 40, it will immediately go to the next
page.
The effect is even weirder when there is a required field in the tree
view. In that case, the new record appears correctly, the user can edit
it, then, as soon as the required fields are set, it will immediately
disappear from the current screen.
In this commit, we have a really simple solution: we simply increase the
limit in this case. An interesting thing is that it is actually temporary:
when the user goes to the next page, the limit is back to its original
value (due to the pager click: it resets the value to what the pager knows).
|

This could (should?) be considered a refactoring, but this is actually
trying to restore lost functionality. In v10, the custom form widgets
were created with access to the node element that define them. We lost
that in v11, with the new views.
However, it is actually very useful for generic widgets. Since this is
not really a risky fix, I think that it can be done in 11.0.
Note: this feature was already reintroduced in master in commit

Before this rev., the field widget 'mail_activity' kept an internal
cache of fetched activities (like the 'mail_thread' and
'mail_followers'). However, for activities, this cache may cause
issues.
For instance, create a new lead in 'My pipeline', schedule a
'Meeting' activity on that lead (it opens the Calendar view so
that real meetings can be created), create a meeting 2 weeks from
now, go back to the lead form view: the activity still diplays that
the meeting is today (when the view is refreshed, the correct date
is displayed).
This rev. removes the internal cache for this field widget, as the
activities can easily be updated in business flows (unlike messages
or followers).
This rev. also fixes a bug in the BasicModel, where the res_ids of
a list datapoint was altered in place to return a list of x2many
commands instead of the list of ids when being stringified. This
caused a traceback when opening a lead with activities, as soon
as the internal cache had been removed.

In some cases, the footer in a form view dialog could be duplicated.
The reason was that the form view was rerendered completely, footer
included, by the renderer, out of the formcontroller control (it is the
formcontroller's job to move the footer buttons to the footer).
A possible fix is to work on the form renderer to make it aware that the footer
buttons are expected to be only rendered once, but it has the disadvantage to
be a fix specific to this issue, and any other form view behaviour with some
side effects may have the same issue.
This commit tries to prevent the form view from rerendering itself
completely in those cases. This also has the disadvantage of possibly
not being a complete fix, if some edge cases are missed. However, I
have the feeling that we still want to avoid rerendering the full view
if possible.

Before this rev., it crashed when trying to create records of the
res.users model. This is due to commit ad1cceb.
The 'default_get' of 'res.users' always returns a value for field
'groups_id', whereas the docstring of 'default_get' states that it
only returns default values for fields given in arguments.
Rev. ad1cceb changed a bit the way the result of 'default_get' was
processed, by iterating over the values instead of over the fields
in the view. So, before ad1cceb, 'groups_id' was simply ignored,
and after, the BasicModel tried to process it and it crashed when it
attempted to retrieve its fieldsInfo, as this field isn't in the
view.
This rev. restores the previous behavior.

Let's assume a one2many displayed over several pages with a default
order such that a record, say R, that would normally be on page 1
is actually on another page. Moreover, there is an onchange on that
one2many which converts all commands 4 (LINK_TO) into commands 1
(UPDATE), which is standard in the ORM.
When the first line of the one2many was edited, the record R was
fully loaded, whereas it shouldn't have been (as it is not on the
current page). So basically, a useless read was performed.
Moreover, if there was an x2many field in the one2many list, a
crash occurred because relational data of R that shouldn't have
been read wasn't postprocessed by the BasicModel.
The useless read occurred because the one2many subrecords weren't
correctly sorted before checking if some of them/some of their
fields should be read. This is not the case anymore.

Let's assume a one2many list view inside a form view, displaying
a single char field A. There is an onchange on the form view
returning a command 0 (CREATE) for the one2many. The command 0 only
specifies a value for field A. The one2many list isn't editable, so
when a sub-record is clicked, it is open in a form view (in a
dialog). In this form view, an x2many field B is displayed in a sub
list or kanban view.
Before this rev., it crashed when the user tried to open the
created one2many sub-record (returned by the onchange) in the form
view, because of the presence of the x2many field B, which wasn't
correctly processed by the BasicModel (its value was undefined,
whereas it must be a valid, empty, dataPoint).
Moreover, the limit of the x2many field B wasn't set, so a pager
was displayed as soon as it contained at least one record.

Before this rev., when an onchange returned a command 6 for an
x2many field, it was completely ignored by the BasicModel.
|
|
When onchange RPCs return a command 4 (LINK TO), the res_id of the
record to link is given, and the BasicModel has to read the fields
in the view for that record. When one of those fields is an x2many
(for instance, displayed with widget many2many_tags), the
subrecords in the relation must be read as well (at least their
display_name).
Before this rev., this last part wasn't done by the BasicModel, and
as a consequence, the many2many_tags widget was always empty, even
though there were records in the relation.
Same thing applied to reference fields, but this is way more
uncommon.
This rev. ensures that x2manys and reference fields are correctly
fetched in this scenario.

Before this commit, there is an issue with one2many lists with records that
have been created on 'default_get': if the record has a required field that
is empty, when the user clicks on this empty required field and then somewhere
else, the record is removed from the list.
The cause of this bug is that these records have invalid field changes, here
the required field that is empty. As a consequence, it checks whether the
record is "new", and if so, removes it visually from the editable list.
(Note: a record is "new" when it is not stored in DB).
This behaviour is expected when discarding records created from "Add an item".
However, that is not intended for records that have been created as default
items of the list. These records are still considered as "new" items, because
they are not stored in DB, but they should stay in the list on discard.
This commit solves the issue by making an additional check before assuming
that the record for which we discard changes comes from "Add an item":
if the record in the list has been created before user interacts on the list
(in other words, the record has been added in the list when the user accesses
it), then we should not remove the record from the list, even though the record
has some invalid fields from the savepoint (e.g. empty required).

Since the <widget> tag is not used anymore in any of our views, it was
not really properly supported. In particular, the form widget was not
notified when the state of the form view has changed, which makes it
very difficult to actually do any useful work.
With this commit, we make sure that the widget method 'updateState' (if
it exists) is called with the new state whenever it changed.
This should allow developers to do useful work without having to work
around the issue. Note that this is not really a perfect solution, since
the updateState methot may or may not have been implemented.
I think that we need some kind of ViewWidget abstraction, which could be
used to have a better and more complete API for widgets in a basic view.
And AbstractField could inherit from ViewWidget.

Rev. dbdd742 introduced the 'baseMode' parameter of field's nodes
in the BasicRenderer. Its purpose is to encode the generic mode
of the field, regardless of its readonly modifier (i.e. in form
views, the baseMode of all fields is the mode of the renderer and
in list views, the baseMode of all fields is 'readonly', except for
fields in the row being edited, whose baseMode is 'edit').
Unfortunately, when the value of the readonly modifier of a field
was 'readonly', its baseMode was changed from 'edit' to 'readonly',
which shouldn't, as the baseMode's value should not be affected by
the modifiers.
This produced a bug when a field had a readonly modifier, as once
its value became true, the field was rendered in 'readonly', and
whatever the value of the modifier afterwards, it always remained
in 'readonly'.
The rev. ensures that the baseMode is no longer impacted by the
value of the readonly modifier.

This is a small correction of odoo/odoo@3aad756 ; a traceback occured when ESC
was pressed in a list view with modifiers.
The `confirmChange` was done on the parent datapoint (of type list) which has no
attribute `evalModifiers`.
`confirmChange` is now called on the record datapoint. Note that for x2m, it
means that all modifiers linked to the parent record won't be re-evaluated (but
this wasn't probably intended as this is a bit overkill).

A `default_get` for a x2many field can return a new list of commands for one of
its x2many field, like
[[0, 0, {
'groups_id': [[6, 0, [1, 2, 3]]],
}]]
where [1, 2, 3] is a list of existing ids.
This use case was not correctly handled by the BasicModel because
`_makeDefaultRecord` was not recursive.
Closes #22401

When creating a record with many default values, it could happen that
the number of ids returned by the default get (or onchange) exceeds the
limit for the form view.
For example, we can see the issue in the expenses list view. We can
increase the limit in the pager, to a value higher than 40. Then,
clicking on select all, then on 'Submit to manager' in the action menu
will result in a traceback.
The Submit to manager action will trigger a new action with a context key
'active_ids' with a large number of ids. After that, the web client
will execute the server actions, which will return a new action with a
context key 'default_expense_line_ids' with a bunch of ids. Then, it
will attempt to create a form view. This will call the
makeDefaultRecord method in the basic model. This method will generate
the commands for the one2many, for all ids, but will only load the 40
first sub records. After, it will attempt to apply the onchanges, with
some code that assumes that all operations of type 'ADD' correspond to a
local datapoint.
In this commit, we fix the code to properly work with operations of type
ADD with a res_id, but with no id. In that case, we simply generate a
command 'LINK_TO', since the value has not been changed.

When fetching x2manys in a x2many, the basic model did not properly sort
the internal data structure before fetching the data. This is usually
not an issue, except when we have an order which is different from the
order of the res_ids. In that case, it can cause crash in some
conditions, because the results from the fetchx2manybatched were applied
to the wrong datapoint.
To reproduce this issue, some specific conditions needs to be met. I
think that it is easier to refer to the test, instead of trying to
explain that.
In this commit, we properly sort the data at the correct place. Note
that this probably solves a bunch of other related issues, caused by the
fact that the internal structure was corrupted.

With these final changes, we hope to stop the many issues that have occured with
binary fields, from these commits:

What remains is the format of binary fields in list views without widgets,
which shows the bin_size instead of the base64 string representation...
... Rest assured, the computation is in JS, so there are no 'bin_size'
shenaningans!
