Since rev. odoo/odoo@f4d541e the `session_id` cookie uses the `httponly` flag so
it cannot be accessed through client side script. But before this rev. the
`session_id` was still provided by the server to the webclient (in session_info,
mostly) and was stored and accessible. This made XSS injection more
dangerous than they should be as it was very easy to steal the `session_id`.
As the browser automatically set the `session_id` on every request to the server,
the webclient shouldn't need any explicit reference.

This commit introduces the "upload file" activity type
category. For an activity of that time, uploading a file
will mark the activity as done (and maybe create the forced
next activities).
This activity type is seen as a shortcut to upload a file
with a reminder.

These templates are supposed to be modified by a new approvals application
in the enterprise repository.

As activities are created using the current user there is no need anymore to
have another field to store the activity creator. We can therefore remove
create_user_id and replace its use by the magic create_uid field.
This commit is linked to task ID 1856417 and PR #27619.

This commit improves code of access rights checks when creating or updating
activities. Several points triggers this commit
* we would like to use _filter_access_rules and override it on activities
model in order to be more standard;
* we would like to get rid of sudo used in various CRUD overrides as using
standard ORM method allows to correctly use current user;
* we would like to get rid of create_user_id field once we can keep the
current user as create_uid;
Access rights are a bit updated. They are now the following
* you can create activities for documents like posting messages (using
_mail_post_access attribute; if not defined, write access on document
is required);
* you can read activities for documents you can read;
* you can write and unlink activities either following the defined access
rule (created OR assigned), and otherwise like posting messages (
using _mail_post_access attribute; if not defined, write access on
document is required);
In this commit we also hide edit / mark as done / cancel buttons for
activities the current user cannot modify.

A new field on activity type allow to change the behaviour of mark done & schedule next:
-marking as done will automatically schedule the next activity, based on the default_next_activity.
-It should also be impossible to edit an activity when this flag is on.

activity.js was a little dirty with a lot of copy paste.
Most of the common logic is now in a BasicModel.
This commit also add some tests on activity view

Purpose
=======
Currently the next activities are not shown due to the BS4 migration
|
|
Purpose: Give the ability to people to directly sign (sic) an email template
without opening the mail composer.
Specifications
* do not display 'email' in activity view: either there are emails and new
display applies, either there aren't any and do not dispaly anything;
* update display of template choice: https://www.awesomescreenshot.com/image/3531694/7f6ac0250009599089ec62b6951a88b4;
* add an "mt 16" between activity and first mail template;
Tests have been updated to new specifications.

This commit allows the user to link some mail template to activity type
with res_model.
When a activity has template, buttons appears in activity, allowing the user
to send mail based on templates.

PR: #25620

In a previous commit, we removed the use of the 'btn-sm' classes as we
used it everywhere for default-size buttons instead of customizing the
size of those default-size buttons directly.
This commit proves it was even more necessary as the 'btn-xs' class does
not exist anymore in BS4 and we so can use the 'btn-sm' class instead.
|
|
The '.label' elements have been replaced by '.badge' elements without
the 'badge-pill' class.
|
|
'img-rounded' -> 'rounded'
'img-circle' -> 'rounded-circle'
|
|
Panels and wells were dropped and replaced by the "Card" component.
|
|
BS4 "btn-default" class was replaced with "btn-secondary", which makes
more sense.
|
|
Odoo made the bad choice of using the 'btn-sm' class for every button
instead of configuring the padding for default 'btn' to be smaller.
In BS4, the style of btn-sm is actually more complex, lowering the
font-size too. Also, btn-xs was removed so we would not have the
possibility to display smaller button than our default ones.
This commit removes btn-sm wherever it was used. Unfortunately, this
might remove it at some places where it made sense but this can be
restored in a second time.

Before this commit, when the user clicks on the chatter category
"Planned activities", the user is redirected to the home menu.
The "Planned activities" category in the chatter is only visible when
there is at least one planned activity on the record.
The intended behaviour is to expand/collapse the planned activites on
the chatter. This commit fixes this issue.
Task-ID 1864452

Currently due to technical reasons all activities are created using the
superuser. It means we have no idea who created an activity. This
commit fixes that by adding a field used to store the activity creator.
It is also displayed in the vignette displayed in chatter giving details
on the activity.
This commit is related to task ID 1865557. Closes PR #25842.

Fixup of decoration integration: o_thread_message_note was not correctly set.
|
|
In some case, we want to have a different style for activities that
require attention for users. Sometimes activities should attract the
user attention with actions to perform that are important.
This commit introduces a decoration option on the activity type. By default
no decoration is done. However decoration type can be set to warning or
error. This triggers the related bootstrap alert classes.
This commit is related to task ID #1860833. Closes #25479.

Description of the issue/feature this PR addresses:
Accessibility improvements forbids the use of the syntax
`<i class="fa fa-check"/> Some text`
to create a labelled icon. But, by this, some fonts are changed.
Desired behavior after PR is merged:
The old syntax can be used.

Summary
----------------------
The purpose of this commit is to improve the JS code of the `mail` module.
It applies the new coding guidelines and makes some changes on the design
of some modules, such as the old ChatManager module.
Here is a short summary of the changes that have been made:
1. New coding guidelines
- snake_case to camelCase
- prefix private attributes and methods with '_'
- jsdoc on most methods
- one class per module
2. Rename/Merge some classes
- 'chat manager' becomes 'mail manager' (internal) and 'mail service' (external)
- 'chat window manager' is now included in mail manager
- 'thread' widget now named 'thread widget'
3. New model abstraction for mail objects:
- modules 'mail.model.*'
- modeling:
0..1 0..1 * *
ThreadWindow <------> Thread <-------> Message
/ \
/ \
Thread With Cache Document Thread
/ | \
/ | \
Mailbox Channel Support Channel
|
|
DM
- Thread: the superclass of threads.
- ThreadWindow: the window component of a thread.
- Message: mail objects representing messages.
- Thread With Cache: threads that can be used with search view (Discuss app compatible).
- Document Thread: represents the thread part of a chatter.
- Mailbox: represents what was previously called 'static' channel, e.g. 'Inbox'.
- Channel: mail objects representing channels, including livechat.
- DM: special kind of Channel for 1:1 communication in the backend.
- Support Channel: special channel for im_support module.
This new modeling approach let us easily add features on all threads, such as the
possibility to put any thread in a small window.
----------------------
Known issues
----------------------
[Already Present in Master]
1. When the Discuss app is in the background with 'Inbox' as the selected
Thread, when clicking on a document thread preview in the messaging menu
of the systray, the rainbow man appears.
2. When a document with the chatter is in the background, when receiving an
inbox notification from this document thread, the document thread is
automatically marked as read, which removes the notification right away.
3. Sometimes, opening a DM window from the "blank" thread window does not work.
4. Reply-to feature on Inbox is not working: no message is sent in the document
thread.
5. On the first login of admin user with demo data, the inbox counter is wrong
(it displays 6, instead of 3).
Explanation after investigation:
> On page load, it fetches the correct number of Inbox messages (3),
but the server notifies of 3 needaction messages right away,
so it wrongly assumes these are new needaction messages.
> Not possible for web client to detect that these messages should not
increment the Inbox counter while keeping same API.
6. Notifications for new document thread messages only work when the user sets
'handle with Odoo' for the Notification Management in the preferences.
> due to notifications on the longpoll bus for document thread
messages that come from needaction notifications.
> requires server-side changes to send notification on the longpoll
bus to mentionned user.
[New]
7. When receiving a message on a unjoined channel, thread window flickers
('open' > 'close' > 'open')
Explanation after investigation:
> JS logic:
a) On auto-join, ask server to join the channel and get channel infos.
b) The info tells the channel is not detached, but JS code makes decision
to detach it, and tells server the channel is now detached.
c) From (a), server notifies on longpoll bus the state of channel, which is
not detached. The web client thinks that the window state of the channel
has been changed somewhere else, and the channel is now closed.
d) From (b), server notifies on longpoll bus the state of channel, which is
detached. The web client opens the thread window of this channel.
> The flicker didn't occur before refactoring because the web client was only
updating the model of channel when it receives the longpoll notification.
> Server behaviour on 1st longpoll notification is necessary for cross-tab
synchronization for channel window state.
> New design implies that model and view should be synchronized, hence the
issue now.
> Solution: remove server-side thread window synchronization and replace with
client-side synchronization.
----------------------
Hacks
----------------------
The module `im_livechat` now uses mail objects that are compatible with Message
and Window objects:
Modeling for messages:
AbstractMessage
/ \
/ \
LivechatMessage Message
- AbstractMessage: message compatible with the thread widget.
- LivechatMessage: message used by im_livechat.
- Message: message used with the mail manager.
Modeling for thread windows:
AbstractThreadWindow
/ \
/ \
LivechatWindow ThreadWindow
- AbstractThreadWindow: behaviour share between all types of thread windows.
- LivechatWindow: window used by im_livechat.
- ThreadWindow: window used with mail_manager.
The reason for these hacks are twofold:
1. Use the thread widget in the frontend and livechat external lib bundles.
2. Do not have a dependency with the mail manager in the frontend and external
lib bundles.

During first scss convertion, classes called as mixins were changed to
an @extend instruction which was the best approximation given the fact
there is no equivalent in sass to do that. The problem is that the
instruction is slowing the scss computation a lot and might also break
the style in unexpected ways because of the complex unwanted selectors
the instruction induces.
This commit removes the need of extends. This is done case per case.
Sometimes this involves adding classes in xml, sometimes to change the
style a little, ... The button rendering refactoring which was made
at the start of the LESS to SASS merge was also done in prevision of
this.
After this commit, sass computation is like 5-6 times faster than less
computation while it was like 10 times *slower* before this commit.

Use a date format in order to display the due date of an activity since
it is a date filed, not a datetime.

An activity is always created with sudo, so it's useless to set the
image and the name of the "Administrator" all the time.
Now the image and the title of the assigned person is displayed.

In march 2017 saas-15 on activity message, the create_uid was displayed
with 26940f8d.
In november 2017 saas-14 an activity was always created sudo() with the
change 53ad585bf.
Thus in saas-15 we always have "planned by Administrator for {user}"
not making sense.

Before this fix, the chatter always showed dates of messages in military time format.
This was not the expected behavior, as the user could have had customize
the date and time format in the settings of the current language.
Steps to reproduce the issue:
1. Set Odoo in English
2. Settings > Translations > Languages > English
2.1. Set Date Format to %m/%d/%Y
2.2. Set Time Format to %I:%M:%S %p
3. CRM > (Select any opportunity with at least one message) > Mouse hover on elapsed time (e.g. "an hour ago")
Expected:
- It shows the customized time format (e.g. 11/07/2017 5:33:36 PM)
Results:
- It shows the military time format (e.g. Tue Nov 07 2017 17:33:36 GMT+0100)
opw-781647
|
|
Steps to reproduce the bug:
- Login as demo user on runbot 11.0e
- Open a contact
- schedule an activity, "todo" , assigned to Administrator
- Clicking on the "i" icon next to the planned activity,
you see that the "Created by" is "Administrator" , which is incorrect
Since this commit: 53ad585bfce70ca66513f0d4833ee5db5ac93cf3, the field
create_uid is always 1.

This commit fix 596e88f , using a better bg-color in order to improve
text readability. It apply also apply a minor padding-left to avoid
having text attached to the coloured div border.
Moreover, the bg-colour can not be applied to activities thread.
The little history behind: remove the bg-color was decided by fp and
the UX dep. I’m not aware if 596e88f is approved or not, but the final
result was not acceptable.

- Use classes instead of repeated mixins
- Add real user avatar instead of fake one
- Reorganize LESS rules
|
|
- Improve overall design
- Better use of UI colours
- Replace planned activities icon
- Vertically align kanban icons
- Remove the 'bell shtcut' and followers caret
- Use a mixin to style the chatter (inline, not inline, compact)

Activities now have recommended next activities. Based on next activities
configured on activity types, it allows to implement light workflows
using next activities feature.
This feature was removed when refactoring crm activities to generic
activities. People asking to remove it were visibly wrong and it is
now implemented back as it was in v10.
|
|
When setting an activity as done in chatter users now have the possibility
to add a feedback. This feedback is added in the generated message that
already contains the activity name and note.
Moreover users now can also immediately schedule a next activity. This is
very useful for chained activities and speeds up activities use.
|
|
template
Currently when scheduling activities, duplicate logs are created. Indeed
a message is posted when scheduling an activity, editing it and marking it
as done. This leads to a lot of noise being created on records.
This commit remove logs when scheduling and updating an activity. A sole
message is posted when the activity is marked as done.
Scheduled activity display in chatter is also improved to better
differentiate the user creating the activity from the user who is
assigned to the activity.

This commit introduces generic activities to use in your addons. Activities are
actions user have to take on a document like making a phonecall or organizing
a meeting. Activities come with the mail module as they are integrated in the
Chatter but are not bundled with mail.thread.
New models are
* mail.activity.type: used to categorize activities. Each type is a different
kind of activity e.g. call, mail, meeting. An activity can be generic i.e.
available for all models using activities; or specific to a model in which
case res_model_id field should be used.
* mail.activity: an actual activity to perform. Activities are linked to
documents using res_id and res_model_id fields. Activities have a deadline
that can be used in kanban view to display a status. Once done activities
are unlinked and a message is posted. This message has a new activity_type_id
field that indicates the activity linked to the message.
This commit introduces a mail.activity mixin to use in various addons that
enables the activities feature. It works like the mail.thread mixin. It defines
a activity_ids one2many field toward activities using res_id and res_model_id.
Various related / computed fields are also added to have a global status of
activities on documents.
Activities come with a new JS widget for the form view. It is integrated in the
Chatter widget although it is a separate widget. It displays activities linked
to the current record and allow to schedule, edit and mark done activities.
Use widget="mail_activity" on activity_ids field in form view to use it.
There is also a kanban widget defined. It defines a small widget to integrate
in kanban vignettes. It allow to manage activities directly from the kanban
view. Use widget="kanban_activity" on activitiy_ids field in kanban view to
use it.
Next commits will aim at integrating activities inside main Odoo addons.
Thanks to R&D India for their work and testing on this task. Thanks to belgian
Usabiliteam for reviewing and testing it. Thanks to @jem-odoo for the final
review. May his soul lie in peace with the trumpets of paradise.
