[FIX] product: force empty domain for variants action
Takes care of resetting it from older versions
e.g. rev d97e7a6a4eaa9e003b48f2522d354669024bc25f
and c0076916f31a47a12de6d2de3b524c698ee893bb, as
the old `variants` field that was used does not
exist anymore, crashing at opening.
